We want to eradicate all sorts of superstitions, anti-rational and metaphysical beliefs inimical to scientific temper. Supernaturalism paranormalism, theism, theology & sophy, astrology, communalism, fundamentalism, religious fanaticism, chauvinism, racism and caste divisions are instances of such beliefs. Belief in these irrationalities makes people timid, un-enterprising and ignorant about the structure and function of nature, society and mind. Status quo of the society thus appears to them to be justified and immutable. We strongly believe that only rationalism and scientific ideology can help people understand and explain natural and social reality - at least potentially, if not always readily. Hence our entire endeavors aimed at building up scientific temper among the masses.
